World Sets All-Time Record Heat

For two days in a row, the highest average temperature around the world set record highs. The average temperature on Monday was 62.62 degrees and was 62.92 on Tuesday. Scientists have called the events terrifying and unprecedented, and expect records to continue to be broken in the weeks ahead. It’s expected that this will be the warmest year on record due to the large El Niño combined with the general warming trend. According to NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), world temperatures have risen 2 degrees since the Industrial Revolution, which has created longer and hotter heat waves.
