Wildfire Smoke Causing Problems

Smoke from continued Canadian wildfires continues to cause problems across the country.  120 million people are under air quality alerts as the smoke spreads east. The alerts cover 1,000 miles from Iowa to Massachusetts and south to Georgia. Some air quality index numbers were over 300, which is considered hazardous. The highest value is 500 and the lowest is 0. When levels are high, officials warn people to limit their outdoor activity.
