Wildfires In Western Canada
Over 29,000 people in Western Canada were evacuated in an unprecedented series of wildfires. Over 100 fires have sprouted, with 16 new ones in just the last 24 hours. Many of the fires were reported as being “out of control”. In Alberta, over 926,000 acres have been scorched and resources from across the country are pouring in to help stop the spread. High temperatures and low precipitation have contributed to the conditions that have created the fires. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed, as this is an ongoing situation.
