Inflation Rate Eases

The most recent inflation numbers show some improvement, with prices of groceries and gas easing up.  Grocery prices were down .2% compared to last month. In March, prices were up .3%.  Overall inflation rate was 5% compared to 6% for March. That’s a big improvement over the previous couple of years. However, many economists still predict that we are headed for a recession. The Fed has increased interest rates in reaction to the continued inflation to try to meet its target goal of 2% inflation. More rate hikes are expected, although not as frequently as in the past year.
