Category 4 Atmospheric River to Potentially Hit Northern California
Although a strong storm hit Northern California earlier in the week, they are not in the clear yet. Northern California suffered through some heavy wind and several inches of rain starting late Monday. The region now faces an atmospheric river that could bring very similar conditions. Starting on Tuesday NoCal can expect 1 to 3 inches of rain to coastal areas, and 3 to 5 inches for higher altitudes.
This weather system is currently so strong it is currently being described as a Category 4 storm on a scale that tops out at 5. The National Weather Service has issued flood warnings for San Francisco, Watsonville, Pacifica, Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley and Boulder Creek to last until at least Tuesday.
