Ukrainian Drone Shot Down by Russian Air Base
Russia said Monday they shot down a Ukrainian drone that was flying close to one of its air bases for long range bombers deep within its territory. They revealed that three of their air force personnel had been killed in the incident. The drone was near the Engels air base, which has been used to store the long range bombers that have attacked Ukrainian cities.
No planes were damaged in this incident but Russia has not reported on whether or not there was any damage to the base. This is one of two air bases that house Russia’s air nuclear weapons, sitting 450 miles from the Ukrainian border. Russia says this is the second time that this air base has been the target of an attack from Ukraine this month.
