89 Post Offices Closed

On Thursday and Friday last week, 89 post offices around the US closed. Offies included Amazon, the US Postal Service, UPS and FedEx, and delivery delays were caused just before the holidays.

According to CNN Business, the companies issued a statement on Friday, warning that the “winter storm hitting large swaths of the United States is disrupting operations in the final delivery days before Christmas.” The US Postal Service said in the statement that “89 post offices were temporarily closed by the storm, 53 being in South Dakota, 20 being in North Dakota, six being in Nebraska and five each being in Minnesota and Iowa.” The postal companies have asked customers/residents to “clear snow and ice from sidewalks, stairs, and mailboxes in order to help letter carriers make deliveries,” and that they were hoping the offices would reopen soon in time for the holiday deliveries.
