Rex Orange County’s Sexual Assault Charges Dismissed

All sexual assault charges brought against singer Rex Orange County, or Alexander O’Connor, have been dismissed. According to The Guardian, O’Connor posted a statement to his social media accounts, saying “The Crown Prosecution Service reviewed the evidence and decided that there is no merit in this case going to trial, not guilty verdicts were entered to all the charges.”

O’Connor made it clear in his statement that he denies all of the 6 counts of sexual assault allegations, saying “I have never assaulted anyone and I do not condone violence or abusive behavior of any kind.” At the end of his statement, the singer thanked his family and friends for their support, and expressed that it was a “difficult time for everyone involved.” The trial was reportedly set to take place on January 3rd of 2023.
