Twitter Bans Journalists, Faces Backlash

Elon Musk has recently faced a major amount of backlash after his decision to ban tech journalists from Twitter. According to CNN, Musk banned “prominent tech journalists,” upsetting many “lawmakers on both sides of the Atlantic.”

Following the ban, the foreign ministry in Germany tweeted the concern they have over the “impact Musk’s moves could have on press freedom.” CNN reported that President of the Committee to Protect Journalists Jodie Ginsberg, said she along with the organization are “deeply alarmed by the move and are calling on Twitter to immediately restore these reporters’ accounts.” Many believe that the ban is going against the use of free speech, and believe the accounts should be reactivated. Musk has not made any comments regarding the reasoning behind the ban or if it will be changed.
