Aquarium in Berlin Bursts

A Berlin hotel holds a gigantic indoor aquarium, AquaDom, which holds nearly 264,000 gallons of water, and just gave way and flooded the hotel. This giant aquarium burst on Friday expelling over 1,500 tropical fish and debris into the street. The 82 foot tall AquaDom is a known tourist attraction in Berlin, and was also the tallest cylindrical tank in the world.

The AquaDom burst at around 6am Germany time in the Berlin Radisson Blu hotel. Parts of the aquarium were connected to the cafe and hotel, leading the debris to travel far and injure two civilians. Union Investment Real Estate owns the AquaDom and has sent investigators in to identify the cause of the incident, but there is currently believed to be no bad intent.
