Taylor Swift Fans Sue Ticketmaster

Many Taylor Swift fans have filed class action lawsuits against Ticketmaster and parent company, Live Nation. According to NPR, over “two dozen disappointed Swifties have filed a class-action lawsuit accusing the companies of fraud, misrepresentation and antitrust violations over its botched Eras Tour ticket sale.”

26 fans across the country filed the “complaint in L.A. County Superior Court on Friday,” and accused the companies of “monopolizing on primary and secondary markets, and engaging in fraudulent practices/antitrust violations.” Over the weekend, the number of plaintiffs went from 26 to 50, where the amount of angry fans only grew in size. NPR reported that the lawsuit seeks “$2,500 for every violation of California’s Unfair Competition Law, which prohibits false advertising and illegal business practices.” Both Ticketmaster and Live Nation have been reached out to, but have not made any comment. Taylor Swift has not responded to inflated ticket prices or lawsuits as well. It has been alleged that another ticket sale will go on in the future.
