North Carolina Power Grid Attacked

A North Carolina power grid was attacked last weekend, leaving thousands of homes dark in central North Carolina. The Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields says there were one or more attackers at two separate substations who opened fire on the grids, resulting in power outages starting around 7pm last Saturday.

Energy officials said power was fully restored by Wednesday evening to the 45,000 customers who were without light and heat. Many residents claimed they struggled over the weekend with no heat in the below freezing weather. Governor Roy Cooper, Moore County, and Duke Energy are offering up to $75,000 for information that could lead to the arrests of the perpetrators.
