Biden Welcomes French President to the White House
President Joe Biden has welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron to the White House for the first time since his term began in 2020. The United States and France are both a part of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, an alliance between 30 different member countries. Their meeting symbolized a conjoined condemnation of Russia’s invasion and war on Ukraine.
Both leaders agree that with Putin’s heinous invasion of Ukraine, the forces must join together once again to support Europe and reestablish peace. Biden says the United States and France are working together to defend human rights and democracy, and to tackle climate change. The countries will be working together to develop a solution for the crisis just across the ocean.
