US Will Grant $53 Million to Help Ukraine

On Tuesday, the United States announced it will grant $53 million to help Ukraine purchase power grid equipment to support their citizens after multiple Russian attacks. Russia has been targeting major Ukrainian power reserves and facilities, leaving many citizens around the country without electricity or running water.

The State Department ensures the packages will contain distribution transformers, circuit breakers, surge arresters among other equipment, and that “This equipment will be rapidly delivered to Ukraine on an emergency basis to help Ukrainians persevere through the winter.” Russia has been attacking Ukrainian electricity and heating since early October with no signs of stopping.
