Remains of 4 Infants Found in Freezer of Boston Apartment

Earlier this week, authorities found the remains of 4 infants in a freezer located in a Boston apartment. According to PEOPLE, authorities responded to “a radio call around 2:15 p.m. to investigate a building in South Boston,” where they announced in a press release that remains of “a human fetus or infant,” were found.

PEOPLE reported that police returned to the apartment the following day, and found more remains. James Borghesani, chief of communication with the Suffolk County district attorney’s office, said that “four infants — two females and two males — were found in packages in the freezer.” According to Borghesani, the owner of the unit was not living in the apartment at the time the remains were discovered, but a person cleaning the apartment found the remains and immediately contacted police. The owner of the apartment was reported to be a woman in her 60’s, who has owned the unit for over “a decade.” Police released a statement explaining the situation, saying the identities of the infants have not yet been found, but are being investigated.
