Covid Cases in Beijing Rise

China’s capital Beijing is being hit hard by Covid 19 right now, causing school systems and businesses to shut down. The entire country is fighting flare ups from Zhengzhou in the Henan province to Chongqing. There have been a reported 26,824 new cases on Sunday, climbing dangerously close to the daily national peak back in April.

There have also already been two recorded deaths in Beijing, these are the first Covid related deaths China has had since late May. Guangzhou, a city with a population of nearly 19 million, has ordered a five day lockdown for its most popular district. Dine in services and theaters and nightclubs were also shut down at this time.
