Kanye West Tweets Shalom After Ban from Twitter

Over the weekend, rapper Kanye West returned to Twitter after taking a break from when he posted controversial tweets. Ye announced his return to the social media app by tweeting “Shalom :).”

According to NBC, Shalom is the Hebrew word for “peace,” and is also used as “a greeting or parting salutation.” Ye previously took a break from Twitter after he posted anti-semitic remarks, saying he wanted to go “death con 3 on Jewish people.” Earlier this weekend, Ye first posted a tweet that read “Testing Testing Seeing if my Twitter is unblocked,” when he then followed with the “Shalom :).” tweet. NBC reported that soon following his return, new Twitter owner Elon Musk posted a tweet saying “”Don’t kill what ye hate, Save what ye love.”
