On Tuesday, former first lady Michelle Obama released her new book, “The Light We Carry: Overcoming in Uncertain Times.” According to NPR, the book talks about “tough times in her life and how she not only coped but remained hopeful.”
On Sunday, Michelle tweeted her inspiration behind writing her 336-page book, saying she wrote it as a “toolbook” to possibly help others find ways to deal with stress and anxiety. In the book, Michelle talks about how she struggled during the pandemic, saying she felt “isolated and uncertain” during lockdown. The book is written using “first-person anecdotes and lessons learned from Obama’s time in the White House and her life as a mother and spouse,” and was first released online on November 15th.
