Walmart to Pay $3.1 Billion in Opioid Lawsuit

Walmart has announced a $3.1 billion nationwide settlement to resolve all opioid lawsuits by state, local, and tribal governments if all conditions are met. Walmart believes this settlement will help the nationwide opioid crisis, along with more preventative measures they will be taking in their stores.

Walmart has committed to opioid stewardship and helping citizens “live better” whether this is through obtaining their prescription medications or by helping others fight the opioid crisis. The brand has adapted approaches to fighting opioid abuse, starting with educating their pharmacists and patients.
