Jay Leno Suffers Third-Degree Burns in Car Fire

Earlier this week, television host Jay Leno suffered from third degree burns in a car fire. According to The New York Post, Leno told TMZ that he was “fixing a clogged fuel line Saturday on his 1907 White Steam Car, when gasoline sprayed on his face and hands.”

When fixing the 115 year old car, a spark “triggered an explosion,” setting Leno on fire. Luckily, Leno’s friend Dave was present, and quickly “smothered the flames.” Leno was then rushed to a nearby hospital. The “Tonight Show” host was treated for third degree burns, and may potentially need skin grafts. Sources close to Leno told outlets that Leno was okay, but the left side of his face is “severely burned,” but his eye and ear are without injury. He has canceled all shows and “engagements” for at least the next 2 weeks.
