Adidas Terminates Partnership with Kanye

On Tuesday, Adidas announced that they have terminated their partnership with Kanye West. According to CNN, the company made a statement on their website and social media saying they do “not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech” and Kanye’s recent comments were “unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, violating the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.”

Both the sale and production of Yeezy products has been terminated. CNN reported that Adidas will take a “$246 million loss to their fourth quarter sales.” Adidas and Kanye first created their relationship in 2013, and when Kanye posted in a ‘White Lives Matter’ shirt earlier this month, Adidas announced that their partnership was “under review.” After the anti-sematic tweets Kanye made, many urged Adidas to separate from Kanye to show they do not support actions like Kanye’s remarks.
