Steve Bannon Sentenced

Trump associate Steve Bannon has been sentenced to four months in prison and a $6,500 fine for his refusal to follow a subpoena regarding the January 6 riots in the capitol. The judge who sentenced him has allowed Bannon to remain free while he appeals his convictions since he believes Bannon will not be a threat to the community or flee the country.

Bannon challenged the prosecution and demanded to see the testimony of his acclaimed actions regarding having knowledge of the January 6 riot before it happened. The House prosecutors questioned why the day before the riot Bannon was quoted saying “all hell is going to break loose tomorrow.” Prosecutors were hoping for a sentence of six months in prison and a $200,000 fine.
