Microsoft Confirms Job Layoffs
Earlier this week, a spokesperson for Microsoft confirmed that job layoffs have occurred recently in the company. According to the statement, the layoffs have been a result of an expected low-revenue “thanks to weaker sales of Windows licenses for PCs.”
CNBC has reported that no exact number of the amount of employees laid off has been announced, but an estimation of roughly 1,000 people has been made. The spokesperson for Microsoft told CNBC that in the future, the company is looking to “invest in our business and hire in key growth areas in the year ahead.” Around 3 months ago, Miccrosoft announced the cut of “less than 1%” of their employees, but over the past couple of months, that number did grow.
