South Korea and US Fire Missiles in Response to North Korea

The United States and South Korea have joined forces to combat North Korea and their reckless missile launches over nearby territory. The US and South Korea fired four missiles off the East Coast of the Korean Peninsula on Wednesday morning. This followed after North Korea launched a ballistic missile over Japan on Tuesday without warning.

The allies typically respond to these actions from North Korea with military exercises. The missiles launched Wednesday were Army Tactical Missile Systems. National Security Council coordinator for strategic communications John Kirby says these exercises are to prove we have “the military capabilities at the ready to respond to provocations by the North.”
