North Korea Launches Missile Over Japan

North Korea has launched a missile over Japan without warning. This ballistic missile is the first unwarned missile launched over Japan in 5 years. According to CNN, the “intermediate-range missile was launched from Mupyong-ri near North Korea’s central border with China at around 7:23 a.m.,” without warning from North Korea.

Japanese officials reported that the missile “flew about 2,858 miles for 20 minutes at an estimated altitude of 621 miles over Japan’s main island of Honshu.” The missile then fell into the Pacific Ocean. The launch was reportedly a weapons test done by the “Kim Jong Un regime,” but put many Japanese in danger. Japanese officials warned citizens to stay indoors and take shelter, in case the missile made landfall.
