Prince Harry Says He Will Not Wear Military Uniforms at Ceremonial Events

Despite serving in the Army for 10 years, Prince Harry will not be wearing a military uniform at the ceremonial events for Queen Elizabeth II’s death. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, decided to step down from royal duties in 2020. This decision now forbids Prince Harry from wearing a military uniform to the Queen’s funeral or any other services.

Prince Harry served in the Army for 10 years and reached the ranking of Captain. He had also completed two tours in Afghanistan. Despite not being the only royal family member who stepped down from duty, Harry is the only one barred from wearing the uniform. Prince Andrew also stepped down from his royal duty, but King Charles III has granted him permission to wear his uniform as a sign of respect for the Queen.
