Bob Iger Explains why Disney Didn’t Buy Twitter
On Wednesday, former Disney CEO Bob Iger, explained why Disney did not buy Twitter in 2016. According to The Wrap, Iger said that at the time, Disney purchasing Twitter would have been “irresponsible.”
Iger explained that he created a vision where purchasing Twitter would help “distribute Disney’s content around the world” when they were looking into streaming. It was reported by Vox that in 2019, Iger said he bailed on the deal because of “the nastiness rampant at Twitter,” including the endless bot accounts and hate spread. Both companies agreed that their businesses did not align.
