Steve Bannon Indicted for Money Laundering, Conspiracy, and Fraud

Steve Bannon has just pleaded not guilty to a New York court on charges of money laundering, conspiracy, and fraud. All charges are related to his partnership with former president Donald Trump, and the fundraiser Bannon created to raise money to build border walls.

The indictment stems from a 2020 charge that Bannon and a few others scammed donors out of $15 million, money that the donors thought was going to fund the building of the border wall. President Trump had then pardoned Bannon. Both Bannon and his associates insist he did not take a salary from this fundraiser, Bannon claims he was acting “kind of as a volunteer.” He blames this trial on political motivations.
