Steve Bannon Expecting to be Indicted

Steve Bannon is expected to face charges on Thursday for his fundraising effort in order to build a wall along the southern border of the United States. The charges were initially brought up in 2020, but then-President Donald Trump had pardoned the defendant related to the federal fraud charges.

Bannon’s attorney Robert Castillo says Bannon plans to plead not guilty on Thursday during his arraignment. Within the recent months, many of Bannon’s close associates were brought to the state jury as well. After the presidential pardon, the Manhattan district attorney’s office had opened up a case for the fundraiser titled “We Build The Wall.” Bannon believes the charges are “phony” and a political weaponization attempt.
