Rapper Fetty Wap Faces at Least 5 Years in Prison

Rapper Fetty Wap will face at least 5 years in prison after admitting his involvement in an active drug trafficking racket. Wap pleaded guilty on Monday for participating in the trafficking that moved drugs from the west coast to Long Island. This charge carries a mandatory 5 year minimum sentence.

Wap stood before U.S. Magistrate Judge Steven Locke, who had revoked the rapper’s bond and sent him to prison two weeks ago. Wap was removed for the plea and then immediately incarcerated again waiting for his sentencing.

Wap, whose real name is Willie Maxwell, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances. His plea deal only pertained to cocaine, though he is allegedly involved in heroin and fentanyl as well.
