Police Arrest Suspect in Juneteenth Mass Shooting

A teenage suspect has just been arrested for the shooting at a Juneteenth festival, killing one person and injuring three others. The suspect is a 15 year old boy whose name has noy been released. The Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested him and transferred the suspect to a juvenile processing center where the suspect was charged with first degree murder while armed.

The shooting happened at a June 19 music festival in D.C. called Moechella, an event supporting racial and social justice. Officers heard multiple shots and were able to identify multiple people injured, including a 15 year old boy that eventually was not able to survive his gunshot wounds. The victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment, and the others injured survived. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone with information that can help police identify who else was involved in this shooting.
