Truck Driver Acquitted on Charges of Killing 7 Motorcyclists

A June 2019 fatal truck accident has finally gone to trial, but the verdict is not what the victims’ families were expecting. 26 year old Volodymyr Zhukovskyy was driving a semi truck in New Hampshire when he collided head on with 7 motorcyclists, killing them all.

Zhukovskyy was on trial for seven counts of manslaughter, seven counts of negligent homicide and one count of reckless conduct, to which he was found innocent. Zhukovskyy has been locked up since the crash, but wiped away tears as he heard his verdict.

On the day of the crash, Zhukovskyy had taken heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine, so prosecutors were firm on their stance that Zhukovskyy was the cause of the crash. The defendants blame lead biker Albert “Woody” Mazza Jr. for drunk driving and sliding into Zhukovskyy’s path, causing the continuous collisions. After a two week trial, the jury came to the decision after 3 hours of deliberation.
