Senate Approves Bill Giving Aid to Veterans Suffering From Toxic Burn Pits

The US Senate has just approved a long awaited bill that will provide expanded health care benefits to veterans who suffered toxic burn pits during their service. The vote passed 86-11 and was sent directly to President Biden’s desk for his signature. The approval of this bill is a relief for veterans and those protesting outside the capitol building for days in the heat.

This bill will be able to provide healthcare to over 3.5 million injured veterans. The bill, named the PACT Act, was approved in July but this revision allows for more conditions to be eligible for the treatment and care this bill provides. This bill is a $280 billion package.
