Pelosi ‘America Will Not Leave Taiwan’

After a very controversial trip to Taiwan, US Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi says America will “not abandon” Taiwan. Taiwan being claimed by China has made it difficult for the US to aid them or collaborate on things. Pelosi says her visit to Taiwan was to reinforce that the US will not abandon them in their time of need while China is launching military drills.

The Chinese government was not thrilled about Pelosi’s stay in Taiwan, and made it very clear by launching many airplanes that ended up crossing the Taiwan Strait into Taiwan territory. Beijing leaders warned both Pelosi and President Biden of the consequences of Pelosi’s visit to Asia, going as far as to say those who play with fire will “perish” by it.
