Kentucky Man Rescues 7 People From Flooding
Nathan Day, former coal miner, rescued 7 civilians during a flood in Eastern Kentucky early Thursday morning. He was helping his son get ready for work when he got a text from a neighbor asking him to save her grandchildren from the rising waters.
Day went outside and was immediately surrounded by screams and pleads for help. He and his wife waded out into the water to rescue the 5 children and 2 mothers from a rooftop. Day was then able to go and rescue two of his former teachers who lived alone nearby.
Officials called the flooding unprecedented, and the flood is still causing distress. There have been a confirmed 35 deaths, with over hundreds still missing. Those who survived lost most, if not everything they had
