Al-Qaeda Leader Killed in Drone Strike

President Joe Biden has just informed the country on Monday that a drone strike sent over by the US to Afghanistan killed Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri. Biden said “I authorized a precision strike that would remove him from the battlefield, once and for all.”

Zawahiri, the 71 year old leader, has been the symbol for the terrorist group since the US took out previous leader Osama bin Laden in 2011. He was in Kabul to reunite with his family when the precision airstrike took him out. The US ensured none of Zawahiri’s family members were going to be injured in the strike, and there were no American personnel in Kabul at the time of the strike.
