Nancy Pelosi to Start Asian Tour

United States Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has just begun her Asian tour with some other members of Congress to meet with power holders across the continent. Pelosi has just finished her first meeting in Singapore where she met the President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister in a two day meeting.

The House Speaker is rumored to make an overnight appearance in Taiwan, a location that is not necessarily welcoming her with open arms. The Chinese claimed territory has arranged for security to ensure the safety of Pelosi if she decides to make an appearance.

On a phone call between President Joe Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping, Jinping warned Biden not to “play with fire.” Some US officials are concerned there will be a Chinese attack on Pelosi upon her arrival in Taiwan.
