Shawn Mendes Cancels Remaining Tour Dates Due to Mental Illness

Singer Shawn Mendes has announced the cancellation of the rest of his tour, due to challenges he is facing with mental illness. According to CNN and a statement Mendes released on social media, the singer said he “wasn’t totally prepared for the toll that being back on the road would take on him,” and after meeting with health professionals, decided to cancel the rest of the tour.

Earlier in April, Mendes spoke about his struggles with mental health to his fans on Twitter. According to CNN, Mendes tweeted that a lot of the time he “feels like he’s either flying or drowning.” During the tour Mendes did postpone shows, but now he has stopped the tour altogether.
