K.J. Wright To Retire With Seahawks on a One-Day Contract
On Wednesday, veteran Linebacker K.J. Wright signed a one-day contract so he could retire with the Seahawks. According to the NFL website, Wright played last season with the Las Vegas Raiders, but wanted to finish his career with the Seahawks.
Wright was drafted in 2011 to the Seahawks, and had a huge impact on the team, playing with them for 10 seasons. In an interview in May with Trey Wingo on the Half-Forgotten History Podcast, Wright said “I just want to go back home. I think it’s that simple. Seattle knows that I want to come back. They know how much they mean to me.” Wright has officially retired, but will never be forgotten on the Seattle team.
