Amazon to Buy One Medical

On Thursday, Amazon announced their agreement to buy One Medical for $3.9 billion. The deal is an all-cash deal, and according to CNN, Amazon is hopeful in “dramatically improving the healthcare experience over the next several years.”

One Medical is reported by CNN to be a “24/7 accessed, membership-based primary care service of virtual care.” This is not the first purchase Amazon has made in the healthcare industry, as Amazon bought PillPack in 2018. By buying One Medical, Amazon hopes to provide better healthcare and a better healthcare experience for consumers in the future.
