Elon Musk Gets Sued by Twitter

On Tuesday, Twitter filed to sue Elon Musk, due to him backing out of the $44 billion deal to purchase the social media company. Last week, Musk told Twitter he wanted to back out on the deal they had been working on for months.

According to CNBC, Musk and his lawyer in a letter, claimed that the social media company “violated their agreement by failing to provide information requested to verify the number of spam accounts on Twitter”, and “failed to proceed with the ordinary course of business by conducting layoffs.” Following the publication of the letter from Musk’s lawyer, Twitter’s board chairman Bret Taylor, said they are suing Musk for “proposing the deal as an elaborate joke”, for not attending meetings in regards to spam accounts, and for “acting in bad faith by allegedly falsely asserting the closing of the deal.” Musk attempted to get Twitter to agree to “seller friendly terms”, since he has already committed $33.5 billion. No further comments in regards to the closing of the deal have been made by Musk.
