Britney Griner’s Wife Calls Out the President on TV

The wife of WNBA player Brittney Griner, has called out President Biden on TV in regards to helping Brittney be released from Russian prison. For over 3 months, Griner has been in Russian prison after vape cartridges with cannabis oil were found in her luggage while at an airport outside of Moscow.

According to CBS, Cherelle told Good Morning America in an interview that aired on Wednesday that she believes her wife is being used as a political pawn. She called out President Biden during this interview saying, ” if they’re holding her because they want you to do something, then I want you to do it.”. Although she has not spoken to President Biden directly, she has reportedly spoken to Secretary of State Antony Blinken about her wife’s case. CBS has reported that Russian officials claim Griner’s case is not political, that it is in fact a criminal offense case. If Griner is not helped, she could face the maximum sentence of up to 10 years in Russian prison.
