19 Killed by Russian Missiles Near Odesa

Early on Friday, authorities reported that at least 19 people were killed in a Ukrainian town near Odesa, by Russian missile attacks. The town is Serhiivka, which is about 31 miles southwest of Odesa.

According to PBS, the Ukrainan president’s office reported that “three X-22 missiles fired by Russian bombers struck an apartment building and two campsites.”. It was reported that when the Kremlin was asked about the attacks on Friday, “Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reiterated Moscow’s claim that it wasn’t targeting residential areas”. Of the 19 who were killed, 2 were children. Along with these casualties, there were 38 others who were hospitalized with injuries, “including six children and a pregnant woman” according to Ukrainian officials. This is one of the many attacks that have caused the deaths of civilians, another being a shopping mall where missiles hit on Monday, killing 19 and injuring 62.
