Ghislaine Maxwell Sentenced to 20 Years for Aiding Epstein
Former socialite Ghislaine Maxwell has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for her enabling and aiding Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual assaults and trafficing of young women.
For over a decade Maxwell and Epstein worked together to sexually assault underage women after promising they could help them financially or in any situations the girls were in. Troubled underage girls were often the targets of predators Maxwell and Epstein, as they were easier to persuade and had no status to report any assaults they would receive.
Along with her 20 years behind bars, Maxwell’s sentence also includes 5 years of supervised release, a $750,000 fine, and a pay of $100 for every count she was convicted. Maxwell’s legal team plans to appeal the charges announced on June 28, but they only have 14 days to do so.
