“The Chosen One” Netflix Production Shuts Down After Two Cast Members Die in Car Accident

Netflix has decided to shut down production of “The Chosen One” after two of its cast members were killed in an accident. Mexican actors Raymundo Garduno Cruz and Juan Francisco Gonzalez Aguilar, were both killed when their van crashed and flipped while in transit from Santa Rosalía to an airport nearby, according to Metro.co.

Redrum, the production company, decided to suspend the filming of the series after the two deaths. According to reports, two other cast members, as well as four crew members were injured. The Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists , or SAG-AFTRA , released a statement to the public regarding the deaths saying, “On set safety is always our top priority. We will continue to take all necessary steps to ensure that our members and others are safe in their workplace.”. Both Netflix and Redrum have been contacted for further statements, but none have been made.
