Bishop Says School Flying BLM, LGBTQ Flags in Massachusetts Can’t Call Itself Catholic
The Nativity School of Worcester in Worcester, Massachusetts has been told by the bishop that they can no longer call themselves a Catholic school. The reasoning behind this decision is the school’s choice to fly BLM and LGBTQ flags on their flag poles outside of the school.
Bishop Robert McManus shared his opinion in April that the flags went against what the Catholic beliefs were, and sent mixed signals to the children. He said the BLM flag allows the students to create a distrust towards the police and the LGBTQ flag contrasts biblical beliefs that marriage should be between a man and a woman. McManus says that even though he has been adamant to the school about the removal of these flags they have refused to take them down.
