Navy Pilot Dies in Fighter-Jet Crash in California
United States Navy Lt. Richard Bullock was pronounced dead this week after his fighter-jet crashed in the Mojave desert on a training mission. Lt. Bullock was flying a F/A-18 Super Hornet. The Navy released that nobody on the ground was hurt, and there is an ongoing recovery of the jet, along with an investigation as to why it went down Friday afternoon.
This crash was the fourth involving the Navy Super Hornet jet, with this being the second deadly one, during a training mission since 2019. Bullock was a part of Strike Fighter Squadron 113, based in California just 240 miles north west of Trona, the place where he lost his life. The Navy has released a statement expressing their grief towards the loss of one of their own and wishes the best for the family and friends of Lt. Bullock.
