Four People Killed at Tulsa Medical Center Shooting

Late Wednesday afternoon, a gunman opened fire at the Warren Clinic in Tulsa, resulting in four deaths. The gunman was Michael Louis, a man who Police Chief Wendell Franklin told CNN, “made it clear that he came in with the intent to kill Dr. Phillips and anyone who got in his way,”. In a letter written by Louis, he “blamed Dr. Phillips for the ongoing pain” after back surgery performed by surgeon Dr. Preston Phillips.

According to CNN, Louis had been trying to contact Dr.Phillips in regards to his back pain after surgery frequently for a few days. He called the Tuesday before the shooting, as well as the morning of the shooting. At around 2 pm on Wednesday, Louis bought an “AR-15 from a gun store”, and bought a ” .40-caliber pistol from a pawn shop on Sunday”. At around 4:53pm on Wednesday, police were alerted about the shooting, and responded at around 4:56pm. Victims killed include Dr. Preston Phillips, Dr. Stephanie Husen, patient William Love, and receptionist Amanda Glenn. It is reported that after killing others, Louis was believed to have shot and killed himself shortly after.
