Mona Lisa Gets Vandalized with Cake
Things at the Louvre took a turn on Sunday when a man smeared cake over the
protective glass of the famous Mona Lisa painting by Leonardo da Vinci. The 36 year
old man disguised himself as an elderly woman and hid the cake in his belongings.
The Louvre clarifies that there was no damage to the painting itself, and the man was
removed immediately. As he was being taken away the suspect shared quotes about
the environment and seemed to be partaking in a protest regarding climate change. He
has since been sent to a police psychiatric unit and will be charged with damage of
cultural artifacts.
