Disney+ Unveils Original Marvel and Star Wars Content

Disney has announced that it will be releasing original “Star Wars” and “Marvel” content on its Disney+ streaming platform. The company says it will be directly premiering 10 “Star Wars” series spinoffs and 10 Marvel series as well as “Pixar” animated content on the streaming service over the next few years. 

Among these new series will be two spin-offs of Disney+’s “The Mandalorian,” as well as another “Star Wars” spinoff the service will be creating titled “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” which will feature original “Star Wars” cast member Hayden Christensen reprising his role as Darth Vader, and many more.

Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm commented on the company’s move to create new original content stating, “We have a vast and expansive timeline in the ‘Star Wars’ mythology, spanning over 25,000 years of history in the galaxy with each era being a rich resource for storytelling. Now with Disney+ we can explore limitless story possibilities like never before and fulfill the promise that there is truly a ‘Star Wars’ story for everyone.”
